Purchase tickets at terminals or online. Currently, no passenger train services to Playa del Carmen, but the "Tren Maya" project is under construction.

Playa del Carmen itself is not a cruise ship port. Cozumel is a major cruise destination, and passengers from cruise ships there often take the ferry to Playa del Carmen for a day visit to the mainland.
