The region experiences two main seasons: a dry season and a rainy season, each with distinct meteorological patterns.
The Dry Season runs from November to May. Days are hot and sunny with very little rain. Average daily temperatures during this time range from 28°C to 32°C (82°F to 90°F). Humidity levels are lower, making outdoor activities comfortable. This time of year sees clear skies and consistent sunshine. The ocean water stays warm, fitting for swimming and water sports.
High Season is mid-December to February, including Easter (Semana Santa), and July/August. This period presents excellent weather, abundant sunshine, and comfortable temperatures. Surfing conditions are prime. Expect higher prices and increased numbers of people.
Shoulder Season is March to mid-May, and October to mid-December. This period offers good weather with fewer crowds. Prices are more moderate. Surfing conditions stay good early in this season.
