Value Added Tax (VAT) refund procedures are not applicable in Bhutan.

Airport Timing

Allow ample time for the drive from Thimphu to Paro International Airport (1.5 to 2 hours).

Attempt to arrive at the airport at least 2-3 hours before your scheduled flight departure.

Smooth Departure Tip

Plan to have your last Bhutanese meal and perhaps a final coffee in Thimphu before your shuttle to Paro. This has a pleasant farewell with the capital.
