Long-Distance Connections

Train Services

Amtrak's Southwest Chief serves Flagstaff (FLG). From Flagstaff, arrange separate ground transport to the park. Grand Canyon Railway provides historic service from Williams directly to South Rim.

Bus Options

Closest Greyhound bus station is Flagstaff. From there, onward travel to the Grand Canyon calls for a rental car or commercial shuttle. Arizona Shuttle offers services from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and Flagstaff to Grand Canyon Village.

Driving Considerations

Valid driver's license. IDP recommended if domestic license is not in English. Renters typically 21-25+ years old (surcharges may apply). Roads to South Rim are paved and maintained. Winter driving means potential snow and ice.
