Safety & Proximity

All areas in the Tatras are safe. Standard precautions for petty theft apply in busier areas like Poprad. Poprad is closest to the airport/national transport. Starý Smokovec, Tatranská Lomnica, and Štrbské Pleso have their own Tatra Electric Railway stations or cable car access points. Ždiar relies more on buses.

Noise & Ambiance

Poprad has typical urban noise. Mountain resorts are generally quieter. Štrbské Pleso is the most tranquil. Tatranská Lomnica and Starý Smokovec have more activity, but remain peaceful compared to urban centers.
