Portree and Broadford bus stations are usually simple shelters. Portree's main square is nearby with shops and cafes.

No direct train line reaches the Isle of Skye. Internal travel within the UK has no restrictions.

  • Cruise Ports: Skye has no large cruise port. Small cruise ships may anchor in bays (e.g., Portree Bay) and tender passengers ashore.

Immigration & Connections

For ferries originating within the UK, no immigration procedures apply. For international cruise arrivals, standard UK immigration procedures are at the first UK port.

Land Transport Connections

  • Armadale: Buses connect to Broadford and Portree. Taxis are limited. Car rental is available with advance booking.
  • Uig: Buses connect to Portree. Taxis are limited and gain from advance booking.
  • River transportation is not applicable for arrival to Skye.
