El Yunque is a hub for hiking, swimming, and other adventure sports.

Hiking and Trekking Routes

Easy Trails

Angelito Trail (0.6 miles RT to river), Big Tree Trail (0.8 miles RT to La Mina River).

Moderate Trails

Juan Diego Falls (unofficial, slippery), Mt. Britton Trail (0.8 miles one-way to tower), El Yunque Trail (2.5 miles one-way to peak).

Challenging Trails

El Toro Trail (2.3 miles one-way to the highest point, rugged, good fitness needed).

Water Sports and Activities

  • Swimming: In natural pools at waterfalls (Juan Diego) and rivers (Angelito Trail). Check water levels and currents.
