Short Inca Trail 2-day

Moderate 10 km (6 miles). Begins at Km 104, includes hike to Sun Gate and Machu Picchu. Overnight in Aguas Calientes. Still requires a permit.

Salkantay Trek 5-day

Challenging alternative to Inca Trail. Reaches higher altitude (Salkantay Pass 4,600m/15,100ft). Stunning mountain scenery, diverse ecosystems. No Inca Trail permit needed.
