Seasonal Considerations

  • High Season (March to September):

Strongest winds for kiteboarding, lively atmosphere. Accommodation prices are higher, more crowds, intense sun exposure.

  • Shoulder Season (October to November, February):

Pleasant temperatures, good wind conditions, fewer crowds, slightly lower prices. Winds can be less predictable.

  • Low Season (December to January):

Mild temperatures, calmer winds for beginners, lowest prices, very few tourists. Wind is less reliable for advanced kiteboarding.

  • Special Weather:

No monsoons or hurricanes. Ocean influence keeps extreme temperatures rare. Direct sun can be very strong.

  • Ideal Activities:

    Kiteboarding: March-September. Relaxation/Exploration: November-February. Fishing: Year-round.

Rainfall and Humidity

Rainfall is almost non-existent, usually 0-2mm each month. Humidity stays moderate to high, around 70-80% year-round, due to the coast. This consistent dry and windy climate is part of Dakhla's unique appeal.

Wind Sports Enthusiasts

For strong, consistent winds, the period from March to September is the prime time. October, November, and February also have good conditions, though wind can be less consistent.

Relaxation and Exploration

If your visit focuses on relaxation or exploring the desert and city, November to February is ideal. Temperatures are milder, and conditions are calmer, with fewer crowds and lower prices.
