Direct flights from outside Europe to Tivat (TGD) or Podgorica (PGD) are limited. Most international travelers will connect through major European cities. Popular connecting hubs include Belgrade, Vienna, Istanbul, or Rome.
Flight frequency and prices increase significantly during the high season (June-August) for all airports. Booking well in advance is highly recommended during this period. Shoulder seasons (April-May, September-October) often offer better value and availability. Low season (November-March) sees the fewest flights and lowest prices.
TGD (Tivat): Small airport with basic facilities (car rental, cafes, duty-free). PGD (Podgorica): Larger, offers more amenities (several car rental, multiple cafes, duty-free, bank, ATMs). DBV (Dubrovnik): Modern airport with wider range of services (currency exchange, numerous car rental, dining options).

Croatia (Debeli Brijeg/Karasovići): Main road crossing from Dubrovnik. Expect significant delays during peak season. Bosnia & Herzegovina (e.g., Sitnica/Zupci): Generally less busy. Train Connections: Limited network. Kotor has no train station. Nearest is Podgorica, connecting to Belgrade. Not practical for direct arrival.

Kotor's stunning bay location makes sea travel a popular and picturesque way to arrive, especially for cruise passengers. River transportation is not applicable for Kotor.
Departure taxes are typically included in airfare for flights originating from Montenegrin airports. You usually will not pay an additional fee at the airport itself. Always confirm this with your airline or travel agent.
