Croatia
Split Airport (SPU) is the closest and most convenient major international airport. Brač Airport (BWK) is smaller, for seasonal charter flights and private jets. Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) is further.
Flight frequency and availability significantly increase during high season (June-August). Prices are highest in July and August and around holidays. Shoulder seasons offer better value flights.
Dedicated airport buses operate frequently. Taxis, Uber/Bolt, or pre-booked private transfers are available.
Taxis are available outside the terminal. Pre-booked transfers or car rentals are also options.
From Split, take a car ferry to Supetar or a passenger-only catamaran directly to Bol. Seasonal catamarans link Bol to Hvar and Dubrovnik.
No train connections exist directly to Brač or Bol. The main train line connects Zagreb to Split. From Split, onward travel is by ferry.
Extensive bus network connects major Croatian cities (Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Zadar) to Split. Bus companies include Autotrans, Flixbus.
Croatia is part of the Schengen Area. Border checks are minimal from other Schengen countries, full procedures from non-Schengen.
Sea travel is the main way to reach Bol. Split serves as the main hub for ferry connections to Brač. Jadrolinija is the main operator.
For international ferry arrivals (e.g., from Italy), standard immigration checks apply upon entry to Croatia. For domestic ferries, no immigration checks.
No specific exit fees or taxes are imposed on travelers departing from Croatia by air or sea. The ticket price usually includes all relevant charges.
Split Airport offers duty-free shops for last-minute souvenirs, cafes, restaurants, currency exchange services, and ATMs for any remaining local currency needs.
During peak season, factor in potential delays due to increased traffic and demand for ferries and transfers. Advance booking for all travel segments is a strong consideration.
